/ Natura Naturans Still Life

A conceptual photo/film shoot placing modern lighting sculptures by WonderGlass in natural surroundings, the works were commissioned for a new campaign to update the brand’s DNA in early 2018.

The look of Natura Naturans drew inspiration from by paintings Leonardo da Vinci, particularly works such as 'Vergine delle Rocce' in which the subjects are featured in nature, the detailed backgrounds featuring distant landscapes that appear to continue well beyond the canvas.

To visually represent the glassmaking process behind many of the lighting sculptures from the collection, coloured smoke was used to embody the furnaces used to heat the material and bring the shapes to life. The completed works were showcased in the Cabinet of Curiosities installation at Maison et Objet 2018 and featured in the 2018 WonderGlass DNA video.
